Frequently Asked Questions

Who are we?
In Strasbourg, 180 Degrees Consulting is represented by a team of eight students from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques, at the head of a students network wich stretches throughout the University of Strasbourg.

What types of projects do you undertake?
We undertake a wide variety of projects appealing to the students’ creativity and technical knowledge, covering everything from assistance with project management to case studies to legal expertise.

I do not have any previous experience in consulting. Should I still apply?
Yes. Many non-profit organisations benefit from simply having people come in with fresh eyes to offer creative solutions to problems they are facing. Experience is not a prerequisite to making good recommendations. The professional training that is provided to all consultants also helps improve student’s consulting ability.

What commitment is required?
Consultants are normally required to:
-attend team meetings twice a month
-meet with the non-profit organization they are working with a couple of times throughout the semester
-assist to the writing of a consulting report every month
-attend a closing meeting at the end of semester

Should only business students apply to join a consulting team?
Certainly not. We encourage students from all courses and years to apply. While some projects have more of a focus on business management, many projects do not.
