Recruitment Executive Board

Are you a talented and self-motivated student with a desire to help others? If so, we encourage you to apply for a volunteer position on the Executive Board of 180 Degrees Consulting Copenhagen. You need to be a student based in Copenhagen from August 2013 to be able to apply.

Projects Fall 2012

 

COBIS

Copenhagen Bio Science Park  is the first dedicated biotechnology Science Park in the region of Oeresund and is currently housing a powerful mix of organizations; start-ups, mid-size companies and tech trans professionals. They offer the right environment for lively discussions, valuable connections, investment and innovation. New building facilities are currently under construction and should be completed by the end of 2013.

180 DC will be assisting with attracting the right combination of start-ups, established companies and people with the know-how and ideas to create the right environment for growth in the Danish biotech industry.

 

Engineers Without Borders

Engineers Without Borders is a humanitarian organization that works with both disaster relief and long-term development by sending out engineers. This semester´s project is a collaboration between Engineers Without Borders and Action Children Aid (a non-profit humanitarian organization). They seek to help an Indian NGO (Sri Kanyakumari Gurukula Ashram) to cultivate their farmland (called The Berry Farm) by assisting them to secure a sustainable water supply, both via well digging and rainwater harvesting systems.

180 DC is assisting EWB and ACA with the application for funds for the project from Grundfoss by creating a business plan for the Berry farm project and by measuring the economic and social impacts of increasing water supply and cultivating the farm through the development of a measuring tool for social impacts over time.

 

Forests of the World

Forests of the World is an environmental organization working to promote sustainable use of the world’s forests, particularly in Denmark and in the tropical rainforests. They have been working to preserve forests resources for the benefit of local communities and the environment and climate for more than 25 years.180 DC will profile the current members of Forests of the World and provide recommendations on both how to increase member loyalty and on how to increase the number of members.

Hertha

Hertha was founded in 1996 by a group of parents with children with disabilities and by pedagogues from a school for disabled children. The vision of the group of founders was to create homes and workplaces for young disabled people, which integrate them more into ordinary society.

180 DC is developing a tool for measuring the societal value creation to document the effects of the social effort and investment made by Hertha and similar social initiatives.

International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims

The International Rehabilitation Council for Torture victims (IRCT) is an umbrella organization for the rehabilitation of torture victims and the prevention of torture in general. It is operating worldwide, comprising of more than 140 members in 70 countries. Administration of the organization is carried out by the secretariat situated in Copenhagen.180 DC  is assisting in making processes at the main office in Copenhagen more efficient in order to gain synergies and safe valuable resources like time, money, and workforce. The consulting team will define a reference process model and identify the optimization and reorganization potential.

Leadership for Humanitarians

Leadership for Humanitarians provides leadership training to humanitarian organizations with the goal of increasing impact and efficiency both in the administration and in the field. However, it is difficult to prove to the donors of the organizations, that leadership-training can not only save money but also save lives. The task for 180 DC is therefore to develop a strong but simple tool, which the organization can give to their clients, the humanitarian organizations, to assess the effect of the leadership training and to pass on these results to donors.

Momentum Trust

Momentum Trust is Europe’s first internet-based NGO that offers loans to very low-income entrepreneurs in Africa. They establish relationships between these entrepreneurs and Europeans interested in supporting potential business ideas with a loan.180 DC will assist Momentum Trust in developing their marketing & communication strategy, especially in relation to how to build trust among social investors and the organization. Further, 180DC will support Momentum Trust in optimizing their internal operations and functions.

Stardust

Stardust, based at Copenhagen Business School, provides student start-up entrepreneurs assistance and support in all the aspects which are key for success: Networking, timing, and nurturing the right ideas. The organization is currently focusing on developing and establishing a strong talent network. 180 DC will assist Stardust in mapping the possible challenges the organization will encounter during the establishment of the network and give recommendations on how Stardust can function in a more effective, sustainable way.

Udsatsen

Udsatsen is a Danish organization facilitating the social integration of marginalized people in the Danish society, which are usually homeless and/or alcoholic people. The organization engages these people through two differing initiatives: “the voice of the street” (a kind of guided tour of the “Copenhagen of the homeless”) and a workshop where training to be a carpenter, painter or other handicraft worker is provided.180 DC is helpind Udsatsen to develop a stronger marketing strategy to increase awareness for the organization and to raise the number of clients.

Engineers Without Borders

Engineers Without Borders is a humanitarian organization that works with both disaster relief and long-term development by sending out engineers. The organizations special knowledge help alleviate suffering and poverty.

180 Degrees Consulting is assisting EWB in their effort to help a Georgian cooperative by identifying potential revenue streams to their business and analyzing the social impact of this business.

  Hygge Factory
The mission of Hygge Factory is to empower youth and give them a voice in society through process- and product-oriented art projects and thus strengthen their identities and networks across different ages and ethnicities.180 Degrees Consulting is assisting HF in their expansion process by creating a business plan. The plan should include considerations regarding organizational design and a possible location for a store and additional space for workshops.
  Forests of the World
Forests of the World is an environmental organization working to promote sustainable use of the world’s forests, particularly in Denmark and in the rainforests of the tropics.180 Degrees Consulting is working with Forests of the World to identify key industries with opportunities for the use of FSC-labelled wood and help create marketing campaigns based on international best practices.

Morning Tears

The Morning Tears alliance is a non-profit organization that brings together organizations that operate with the goal to improve the lives of children whose parents are in prison.

The 180 consulting team is prepare morning tears for strategic partnerships by developing a step-by-step model/framework that will guide morning tears to identify interests and goals as well as potential partners.

The Hunger Project
The Hunger Project is a global, non-profit, strategic organization committed to the sustainable end of world hunger by developing effective, bottom-up strategies.180 Degrees Consulting is developing a general method of how to secure funding for the newly established Danish branch of The Hunger Project.
The Humanitarian Water and Food Award
The Humanitarian Water and Food Award is created to highlight and reward groundbreaking projects that are using effective solutions to conserve water and grow food sustainably.180 Degrees Consulting is working on developing a sponsorship strategy to enable WAF to ensure short-, medium- and long-term sustainability supported by a general branding concept.
Social Lab
Social Lab is a platform that facilitates the creation, development and testing of ideas that aim to tackle social challenges and create positive change.180 Degrees Consulting is working on developing a marketing strategy for their “Social lab 2700” project and creating a general partnership strategy for Social Lab.
